Ramadhaan – The Month of Repentance & Supplications – Course 5

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: …and may a man upon whom Ramadan enters and then passes before he is forgiven, be humiliated.” (Sunan At Tirmidhi Vol 6 Hadith 3545)

We call Ramadan the month of repentance & supplications as Allah bestows his countless mercy upon us during Ramadan.

If a person repents sincerely during Ramadan the month of repentance & supplications, Allah forgives all of his sins:

“O my servants who have transgressed against their souls! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah: for Allah forgives all sins: for he is oft-forgiving and Merciful.” (Al-Quran 39:53)

In The Month of Repentance & Supplications Course

Tawbah

The literal meaning of Tawbah is to come back or return. In Islamic terms, Tawbah means to return to the commands ordered by Allah. It means to give up the bad deeds. Tawbah can be translated as repentance. We will discuss the requirements for Tawbah in the course too.

Repent to Attain Paradise

“And o you believers! Turn you all together in repentance to Allah, that you may attain bliss.” (Al Quran 24:31)

Love of Allah

“Allah loves those who turn to Him constantly, and He loves those who keep themselves pure and clean.” (Al Quran 2:222)

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) repented hundred times a day during Ramadan the month of repentance & supplications to Allah. This shows us the importance of repentance.

Allah will forgive a person who repents till the day of resurrection.

The Messenger of Allah said: “Allah has people freed on every day and night, meaning in Ramadan-and for every Muslim in every day and night is indeed an answered supplication.” (Sahih Al Targheeb by Al Albaani- Hadith 1002)
