Lesson 3 – Hereafter : Life after Death

“He who created Death and Life that He may try which of you is best in deed; and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving.” Al Qur’an 67:2

Introduction to Hereafter: Life after Death

Many people ask, is there proof of life after death? What happens in the afterlife? Islam strongly believes in the hereafter. This is what we are going to discuss in this lesson.

Is Believing in Hereafter a Blind Belief

Is there an afterlife? Many people think that believing in the afterlife is a blind belief, but we have logical arguments for that.

Believing in The Hereafter is a Logical Belief

There are many verses of the Holy Quran that are proved to be correct by scientific evidence and some that are still ambiguous because science has not reached that level. Thus it can also be considered true that life after death exists.

The Concept of Human Values is Useless Without the Concept of Hereafter

Those who don’t believe in the afterlife do not consider it good or bad. A person who robs thinks it’s good unless he starts believing in the hereafter. Some people may say:

  • The person will face difficulties, but if I rob, I get an easy life
  • Someone may rob you, but I have many bodyguards
  • The police may arrest you, but the police are working with me.
  • It’s easy money, the only reason why I rob
  • It is against humanity and selfish, but I am living a good life; why should I care for others
  • No logical reason as to why its bad

Thus a person must know about the afterlife to consider good and evil.

A Muslim can Convince a Powerful and Influential Criminal

The criminal is logical when he thinks that he is most influential and powerful, but a Muslim will prove him otherwise and make him believe in life after death.

Every Human Being Wants Justice

Everyone fights for injustices done to them, but if I am all-powerful, doing injustice to others will prevent them from doing the same to me.

God is Most Powerful and Just

As a Muslim, I will remind him of a superior being and what happens in the afterlife.

Why Does God Not Punish Me?

A person, when presented with arguments, will ask why God does not punish him if he exits.

The People Who Do Injustice Should be Punished

Every person in the world who suffered injustice wants the person to be punished.

This Life is a Test for the Hereafter

Whatever wrong a person does here, he will be punished for it in life after death.

Final Justice is on the Day of Judgement

“Every soul shall have a taste of death: and only on the Day of Judgement shall you be paid your full recompense. Only he who is saved far from the Fire and admitted to the Garden will have attained the object (of life): For the life of this world is but goods and chattels of deception.”

Al Qur’an 3:185

What Punishment Could the Human Law Give to Hitler?

Hitler killed six million Jews; even if he was caught, he could not have been punished justly, but it can be done in the hereafter.

Allah can Burn Hitler More Than Six Million Times in the Hellfire

Allah can incinerate Hitler six million times in life hereafter.

No Concept of Human Values or Good and Bad Without the Concept of Hereafter

Thus to believe in good and bad, one must believe in the life hereafter.
