Lesson 1 – Introduction
“And if you are in doubt as to what we have revealed from time to time to our servant then produce a surah like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers at there are any) besides Allah, if you are truthful. But if you cannot and of a surety you cannot then fear the Fire whose fuel is Men and Stones, which is prepared for those who reject Faith.” (Al Qur’an 2:23-24)
Quran and Modern Science
Whenever the topic Quran and modern science is put up, many people don’t see it as a serious topic as they believe that Quran is a religious book that teaches you how you can become a good Muslim. However, this statement is not entirely true, Quran teaches us how to be a good Muslim, but it also teaches us hundreds of other things. Modern science has made a lot of discoveries in recent centuries; however, the Quran mentioned these discoveries 1400 years ago. There are many examples; the Quran covers the following branches of science:

Quran is a Miracle
A miracle is something that is beyond the ideal perception of human beings. It is something that the simple mind of a human being cannot process or believe to be true. Quran is a miracle as it contains discoveries about science that have been discovered in recent centuries. How can you expect a book revealed 1400 years ago to contain accurate information about the discoveries made one or two centuries ago? Indeed, Quran and modern science are related deeply.
Quran, the Best Arabic Book
Quran is the best Arabic book to exist on the face of mankind. All the people agree on this point. There is no Arabic book that is as perfect as the Quran. The challenge of the Quran is to produce at least one Surah that is similar to one Surah of the Quran in terms of beauty, knowledge, and elegance. This challenge has been repeatedly completed in the Quran.
Science and Religion
The famous physicist and noble prize winner, Albert Einstien, says that: “Science without religion is lame, Religion without science is blind.” We should read the Quran and analyze in terms of this statement whether Quran and modern science are compatible or incompatible.
Quran, a Book of Signs
The Quran is a book of signs as it contains more than six thousand signs, out of which approximately a thousand signs deal with science. All the signs related to science mentioned in the Quran relate to a discovery or fact.
