Introduction to Concept of God in Islam
The question, what is the concept of God in Islam, is very significant. In this lesson, we will discuss the concept of God in Islam in detail.
What are Islam Religion?
It is a major Semitic religion with many followers. The concept of God in Islam is that they believe in One God and the teachings of the Quran. They also believe in the hereafter and the prophets.
The most concise definition of God :
The concept of God in Islam can be understood by the following verse,
- “Say: He is Allah, The One and Only.”
- “Allah, the Eternal, Absolute.”
- “He begets not, nor is He begotten.”
- “And there is none like unto Him.”

Surah Ikhlas – The Touch Stone Of Theology:
Theology means the study of God. Surah Ikhlas has the perfect way to study God. Any non-Muslim can be tested by this.
What Does Islam Say About God-Men:
India is called the land of God-men since it has many saints and spiritual masters. One such master is Osho Rajneesh.
Osho Rajneesh:
He was a spiritual teacher in India and formed his own community. But his followers thought he was the God.
Bhagwan Rajneesh Put To The Test Of Surah Ikhlas,:
- The first criterion is to be One, but there are many like him
- Secondly, he must be eternal, but Rajneesh died.
- Thirdly ‘ He begets not, nor is He begotten’ bit Rajneesh had parents.
- Fourth, ‘there is none like unto him,’ but there are many like Rajneesh.
By What Name Do We Call God
Muslims prefer calling God Allah to keep the concept of God in Islam pure because the word ‘God’ can be played around with.
God Does Not Become A Human Being :
Many people argue that if God is all-powerful, why can’t he become human. We will tell you why in the following points,
- God is immortal; humans are not.
- God does not have a beginning or end, whereas humans do.
- He does not require to eat or sleep.
Worship Of Another Human Is Useless:
If God becomes human, He is left without any qualities of God, and there is no point in worshiping him. There is no point in worshiping another human.
God Does Not Perform Ungodly Acts
The concept of God in Islam revolves around him being supreme; thus, he can never perform ungodly acts like injustice or telling lies.
- He is never unjust
- He does not make mistakes
- God performs Godly acts
“For verily Allah has power over all things.” Al Qur’an 2:106, 2:109, 2:284, 3:29, 16:77, 35:1
Anthropomorphism:
Many religions believe that God takes human form and comes down, but the concept of God in Islam is not such; let us see it briefly,
- The Creator prepares the instruction manual
Just like all the things created by humans have a manual that is followed . Humans also have a manual to their life in the form of the Quran.
- Allah chooses Messengers
Allah does not come down himself but has sent down prophets and messengers to spread his message.
- Some people are ‘blind’ and ‘deaf.’
Although this concept is quite absurd, people still believe it. These people are truly blind and deaf and will never understand.
“Deaf, dumb, and blind, they will not return (to the path).” Al Qur’an 2:18
